The long and 'short' of it

One of my earliest posts was dedicated to Disney's miniature masterpieces, the Silly Symphonies.
Short, sweet, sensible, sensitive; not silly at all.
In this post, I focus on animation shorts (and not just from the Disney-Pixar stables), another thrilling and stupendous expression of mind-blowing creativity. I list my favorite shorts here, and in no particular order as such.

1. La Luna

Like the inimitable Oscar Wilde said - Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.
Our little hero just does that and makes a luminous discovery!

2. Partly Cloudy

High up somewhere in the clouds, your bundle of joy is being given life! But, hold on, there are plenty of sharp turns and twists ahead.

3. The Blue Umbrella

Romance on a rain-soaked evening just got elevated to a whole new level altogether!

4.  Alma

Behind the glass panes of the toy shop, a seeming haven for little kids; behind the cherubic faces of the dolls lurks a cold horror. If ever an animation movie shocked the living daylights out of you, this is the one!

5. Paperman

Sepia tinted romance, longing, and that final 'meet-cute' !

6.  Day & Night

When contrasts make a pair, when opposites define each other, when each makes the other complete.

7. French Roast

Emphasizes the age-old notion - Never judge a book by its cover!

IMDB:   French Roast

8. One Man Band

Pixar's incredible musical charisma to the fore, this movie charms with music and movements, without even a single spoken word.

IMDB: One Man Band

9. Presto

The gorgeously animated tale of the rabbit-in-the-hat with a delicious twist and a happy reunion.
